Unless you live under a rock you should know that the south - especially the state of Alabama - has had some excitement the past few days. Tuesday morning brought snow to the Birmingham metro area followed by mass chaos of frozen roads and extreme traffic delays. Despite the conditions we faced this week I believe there is always something to be thankful for!

During the #snowpocalypse2014 I was thankful for...

Safely trekking 2 miles in the snow with some workmates and for the laughs along the way.

For beautiful snow covered swings, porches and streets.

For friends that shelter, clothe and feed me.

For driving up to this view Thursday afternoon knowing I was finally home.

There have been incredible stories of people helping those in need - from giving away free food to opening up shelters for those unable to get home to this doctor walking miles to operate on a patient in need. It is so encouraging to see people rally together during emergency situations.

What is something you are thankful for this week? What did someone do to help you out during the #snowpocalypse2014? Please share!
